Clearer signage is needed on some of Tenby's beaches to indicate to dog walkers where they can and can't take their pooches.

Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter told her colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council that she felt that the signage hadn't worked this year, as it wasn't plain enough in some locations.

"The North Beach signage is clear that it's not prohibited from May 1 to September 31, but it's not clear in other areas and very confusing as to which beaches people are able to take their dogs for a walk on and when," she explained.

"We don't want to jeopardise our Blue Flag status, so maybe we can write to the county council and get plainer signage introduced to other areas of the beaches.

"I've seen lots of dogs on the beaches this year, it's not necessarily always the owner's fault, clearer signage would help," she added.
