Tavernspite School boasts one of the best-dressed girls' football teams in the county thanks to a sponsored kit that the girls helped designed themselves. The smart blue and pink strip bears the logos of generous sponsors, G. D. Harries, Princes Gate Water, Silver Hill Builders, South Carvan Holiday Park and A. W. P. Engineering. The team has entered local competitions and reached the semi-finals of the Urdd County Football Championships and Pembrokeshire Girls Football Festival. "The girls have really impressed me with their enthusiasm and dedication this year and they are just getting better and better," said team coach and schoolteacher, Clare Dash. Headteacher Kevin Phelps added: "We have been very fortunate to have such excellent support from our sponsors. It's great to see the girls' professionalism matched by such a smart kit. "We'd like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors!"
