Following concerns raised in recent months by Clr. Michael Williams, Pembrokeshire County Council have agreed to carry out some limited improvements in Bells Corner area of Tenby. Reflective bollards will be placed the Tenby side of the first lay-by where there is presently an unkerbed verge that appears to stand forward of the natural line into the road. They also propose to put centre of carriageway markings on the corner. The senior network manager has agreed to programme a scheme to reset the kerbs and to overlay the carriageway and footway in the new financial year. It may be that the carriageway markings will be held pending the resurfacing to avoid abortive work. In welcoming these proposals, Clr. Williams said: "From a position of denying there was any problem in the area, such has been the level of response to my request for drivers involved in accidents on the corner to contact me, the council has had to act. It will be interesting to see if what they propose will help the problem. Most of the accidents, it appears, are related to excess speed, and these measures, I hope, will reduce the speed of vehicles negotiating the bend."
