Saundersfoot's biggest charity group, Saundersfoot Festivities, presented cheques totalling £3,000 raised at a successful Pure Bee Gees gig organised by the association at the Regency Hall recently. The Gareth Scotcher Fund benefited from a cheque of £2,000, which was collected by his wife Hayley and children Dylan and Daisy, while teachers at Saundersfoot School were presented with outdoor jackets which will enable them to go out in all weathers onto the sports field. Mrs. Rosemary Hayes and Mrs. Mary Cavell, meanwhile, received £300 towards the refit of the Regency Hall, while a cheque was also donated to the Ollie Morgan Fund. Saundersfoot Festivities are grateful to all the people who have supported their last two events and are already pleased with the village's response to the next ones which are also at the Regency Hall. Chairman Martyn Williams has been overwhelmed with the gratitude of the public houses and their willingness to help in any forthcoming events. The next one is on August 9 and the beneficiaries will be Breast Cancer, Saundersfoot Footlights and Tenby junior football. Saundersfoot Festivities is keen to help local groups with any money raised from their events. "It's about getting the buzz back into the village, with the money helping local charities or local organisations," said Martyn.
