Enjoy the beautiful beaches of South Pembrokeshire on the next of this year's series of Guided Walks from Railway Stations.

The walk, which takes place on Saturday, September 1, is approximately 12 miles. John Maudsley, of the Llanelli Ramblers, will guide walkers from the start at Lamphey station at 11.58 am to Penally station in time to catch the 4.42 pm (eastbound).

The route, which cuts from Lamphey down to the coast at Freshwater East, takes in some of South Pembrokeshire's finest beaches - Swanlake Bay, Manorbier, Lydstep and Penally, and allows walkers to enjoy spectacular views out over Carmarthen Bay to the monastic settlement on Caldey Island.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Further information is available from Sarah Worby on (01834) 860965, email [email protected]">[email protected]

The walks are organised by SPARC/PLANED as part of the Greenways initiative, which aims to promote access for all to Pembrokeshire's unique and beautiful countryside by environmentally sustainable means.

The Greenways initiative is part funded by the European Union Objective 5b Rural Wales (ERDF) programme and the Countryside Council for Wales. The annual Guided Walks from Railway Stations programme receives additional assistance from Wales and West Passenger Trains.
