Beachwatch is a nationwide beach clean-up and litter survey organised by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) - the UK charity dedicated to the protection of the marine environment and its wildlife. It takes place once every year, over the third weekend of September, to coincide with the International Coastal Clean-up. The National Trust is running an event on Sunday to link in with this global event. Join Kiri Howell (National Trust community liaison officer) and Steve Gerlach (National Trust/National Park warden) at Freshwater West Beach to help care for this beautiful beach and discover what's lurking amongst the seaweed! The event takes place from 2 - 4 pm and those interested are asked to meet at Freshwater West car park. For more information, ring Kiri on 01646 66 1359.
