Further 'dog prohibition' signage has been mooted for Tenby's beaches.

Speaking at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told members that he had conducted a walkabout with county council beach warden Myrddin Dennis, pinpointing possible places where signage needed to be introduced.

Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter had recently called for clearer signage on Tenby's beaches, as she felt that the signage hadn't worked this year, as it wasn't plain enough in some locations.

The county council had also confirmed that two dog wardens had been employed for Pembrokeshire, one for north and the other for the south of the county, for next April.

Mr. Davies told councillors that lifeguards on duty on the beaches would also be able to advise dog walkers on where they could and couldn't take their dogs during certain times of the year.
