On Sunday, despite terrible weather conditions, Amroth Coastcare group turned up at Wisemans Bridge beach to carry out the planned beach clean that was cancelled the previous month... due to the weather.

Eleven brave volunteers arrived, including four-year-old Dilyn, keen to improve the look of the beach. Altogether,10 bags of rubbish were collected, comprising of plastics of all kinds, more green fishing rope than had been found on Amroth beaches, together with toothbrushes and hundreds of bottle corks, and a couple of broken bottles.

The rain continued to fall, so after an hour and everyone soaking wet, they called it a day. The beach looked much better, but there was a part past the pub that was not completed, so they will return another day to complete this.

Amroth Coastcare group is supported by Keep Wales Tidy. The next clean-up will be at the slipway on Amroth beach on Sunday, March 29, at 2 pm. All help would be appreciated.
