AN environmental charity is urging local residents to go down to Tenby harbour on Sunday morning to be part of a video to help raise £2 million and help protect the world's rainforests.
Charity, the Size of Wales, is asking for individuals and groups to descend on Tenby harbour at 9.30 am wearing green and brown colours to take part in a flash mob and be filmed for the charity's viral video. A flash mob is where a group of strangers unite in a public place, confusing and entertaining any unknowing onlookers.
The charity is aiming to protect an area of rainforest the size of Wales in Africa and South America, as part of Wales' national response to climate change. By protecting such an area, the hope is that other countries will follow Wales' example, as an area of rainforest twice the size of Wales is destroyed in Africa every year.
As well as supporting a worthy cause, it is also a chance to meet comedian Dan Mitchell, from ITV's 'Show me the Funny', who will be co-ordinating the filming at the harbour. Tenby's legendary marathon runner Rosie Swale-Pope is also showing her support by joining the flash mob.
Sarah Jenkinson, development and communications director, at Size of Wales, said: "Everyone can help in our mission to protect two million hectares of rainforest, and we need as many people as possible to make it down to the iconic Tenby harbour this Sunday to make the video brilliant. The video will be widely used, and will be vital to the success of our project."
