Tenby's favourite four-legged fundraiser Basil has invited people to join his garden party in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. The black Labrador - who is the Tenby Yorkshire Building Society branch's mascot - will be helping to serve up home-baked cakes, tea and coffee on Wednesday, August 13. Previously, Basil has helped the Tudor Square branch, raise almost £4,000 for the RNLI. Earlier this year, Yorkshire Building Society launched its Hour of Need campaign - the most ambitious fundraising drive in its 150 year history. The society is aiming to raise £500,000 by December 2016. This equates to funding an hour of care by a Marie Curie Nurse for every hour of the fundraising campaign. The garden party will take place on School Lane, Penally, from 11 am until 4 pm. There will also be a raffle and a number of stalls selling plants, books, crafts and more. Admission costs £2.
