Staff at the Barclays Welsh Call Centre in Haverfordwest recently organised a fund-raising event in aid of Calon + Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and Wales Air Ambulance.
The team of 11 colleagues and friends raised a fantastic sum of £1,362 by walking 15 miles from Crymych to Newport across the Preseli Mountains. Stunning views and scenery were part of a great day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Many thanks go to Paul Hunt for leading the walk, and ensuring the safe arrival of the team at Newport. Thanks also go to Daron and Kristina Paish, of The Golden Lion, Newport, for their kind hospitality.
Mike Ashbridge from Wales Air Ambulance said: "The funds are gratefully received as this allows us to continue to provide a lifesaving service to our communities."
Grug Fussell, cardiac rehab nurse, said: "Many thanks to all who participated in the walk and the funds will help us to further support and provide services to patients who have heart disease or have undergone cardiac surgery."
Monies raised from the event have been matched £ for £ by Barclays as part of the Barclays Community Investment Programme.
