The annual social get-together of the Paul Sartori Foundation, Pembrokeshire Hospice at Home, took place recently. Volunteers of the Narberth charity shop travelled to Haven Road, Haverfordwest, to join with trustees, staff and other volunteers in a summer barbecue.

The food was prepared and served by three chefs of the 14th Signal Regiment EW, based at Cawdor Barracks. Praise indeed was passed by all at the excellent tastiness of both the cooked food and the salads. Voting member Alex Paterson did a grand job as wine waiter.

The chairman of the trustees, Mrs. Joan Mathias, took the opportunity to thank everybody for their involvement to sustain the work of the hospice service. About 120 came along to meet with each other and to see the new developments of day therapy room and equipment resource centre.

"It is a marvellous opportunity for the trustees to meet both with the paid staff and volunteers who give of their time in our charity shops and participate in other fund-raising activities," said Lorna Johns, hospice director. "We at Haven Road take great delight in welcoming our supporters to our base. We are also grateful to John Standen and Dave Radford of the 14th Signal Regiment EW for granting permission for the three chefs to cook such a superb barbecue."
