At a recent ceremony at Whitland, HSBC presented members of the management committee of Cymdeithas Genedlaethol Hywel Dda with a donation from its Charitable Trust.

The financial contribution of £2,370 will be directed towards the production of a bilingual coloured brochure for the garden and interpretive centre, and also a booklet giving the historical background to the laws. These will be used by schools, individuals and groups visiting the Hywel Dda Gardens and Interpretive Centre.

Mr. James Davies, manager of the local HSBC bank, presented the cheque on behalf of HSBC Bank Charitable Trust.

He said: "We are delighted to support the Hywel Dda Society and hope that our contribution will go some way towards helping visitors to the centre to gain a better understanding of the garden and extracts of the laws of Hywel Dda which are illustrated on slate plaques."

Responding on behalf of the society, chairman Roy Llewellyn said: "We are extremely grateful to HSBC for their generous donation. The bilingual brochure will be of great benefit to the visitors and will enable us to promote the commemorative gardens in Whitland to a wider audience."
