Nigel Frith, manager at NatWest's Tenby branch, has won a NatWest Community Cashback Award for his role as a school governor at Penally VC School, helping them to fund much-needed additional books and computer software.

The scheme pays out awards ranging from £100 to £1,000 to individual employees and teams who make a difference to their communities by fund-raising, helping and managing local organisations and charities.

A sum of £250 is awarded to those who, like Nigel, give up their time to a local community group. In this way the bank will be injecting about £2 million into local communities the length and breadth of the UK.

Commenting on the award, Nigel Firth said: "It's great that my employers are supporting my community involvement in this way.

"The money will move the school another step closer to obtaining the new books and computer software it needs."

Graham Doney, headteacher at Penally VC School, added: "We are delighted that NatWest has recognised Nigel's activities with our school. The kind donation towards these extra resources will make a real difference to pupils at the school for years to come."

Anyone wishing to make a donation towards the new books and software should please contact Graham Doney at the school.
