A branch of Barclays Bank at Pembroke Dock's is due to close early next year.
Barclays community leader for the region, Mervyn Owen, said the five members of staff at the Pembroke Dock branch of the bank, which is situated on Dimond Street, would be given the opportunity to work at an alternative branch.
"At the Pembroke Dock branch, customer usage has declined by 20 per cent since 2008 and 68 per cent of customers now regularly use alternative branches, which is why we have taken the difficult decision to close the branch on February 27," explained Mr. Owen.
"The way customers undertake their banking is changing as people increasingly use online, telephone and mobile devices. In response to this change in customer behaviour, we must evolve our business to meet their needs," he added.
The Pembroke branch of Barclays will remain open in the area, while bank customers will also still be able to make everyday transactions at the nearby Dimond Street post office.
