On Sunday, June 19, the 'Race for Life', Haverfordwest, took place at Scolton Manor. Pembroke and District Cancer Research committee filled a Fiat 500 motor car with balloons and people had to guess the number of balloons inside the car.

The car was kindly loaned to the committee by Mr. M. Green, of P.M.S 'Italia', of Haverfordwest.

The number of balloons was 186. Two people guessed the correct amount, a draw was made and the winner transpired to be Mr. Neil Roberts, of Pembroke Dock.

The £25 prize was returned to the charity by Mr. Roberts.

Total amount raised by guessing the number of balloons, selling numerous home-made cup cakes and Welsh cakes was an excellent £550.
