Tomorrow (Saturday) at Clarbeston Road Community Hall, Celtic Blue Rock Community Arts Festival will be launching its new youth project, Baby Blue Rock, a training and events initiative designed to teach young people basic skills in lighting, sound and stage management whilst in a professional live music environment. "With our funky blue logo monster 'Baby Blue Rock' as our mascot and trendy trademark for events we run in the community and training projects, we feel confident that this project will be a success and a huge stepping stone for young people wanting to get involved in this side of events management," said Cherylee Barker, training and events officer. Recruitment onto Baby Blue Rock (formerly Eventful Young Talent) is only open to persons living within Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. You must be aged 16 - 26 years to register and there are limited spaces. Launching Baby Blue Rock with their unique Pembrokeshire style will be four bands, all performing an eclectic mix of pop, rock, metal and punk - Boss Not Plastic, One Room Down, Regime and Volplus. 24 Carrot Promotions have been appointed as the official trainers for the Baby Blue Rock project. "We are delighted to have been chosen and very happy to be involved further with Celtic Blue Rock," said a spokesperson. "We look forward to working with all the bands, trainees, volunteers and Celtic Blue Rock committee."
