For affordable entertainment for all the family, seven days a week, look no further than Tenby’s brand new exciting creative café.

Babi-Beau offers the opportunity to create a huge variety of arts and crafts for all occasions, including jewellery making, t-shirt printing, woodwork, glass painting, sewing, mask-making, fabric painting and much more.

Themed events, children’s parties and adult workshops are also on offer.

Babi-Beau is situated at Sainsbury’s Complex, Upper Park Road, and is the brainchild of teacher Rachel John.

Rachel founded Babi-Beau five years ago following the birth of her son, Beau, who she named the business after.

She was keen to put her art and design skills to good use by doing creative work in the evenings, so started designing and printing T-shirts and making bespoke personalised gifts which she sold via her online shop.

She returned to teaching, most recently teaching art at Tenby’s Greenhill School, but continued with her Babi-Beau work in the evenings, as the business continued to expand and Rachel outgrew her ‘studio’ at home. With an opening in the market for affordable indoor entertainment all-year-round, she finished her teaching job and opened for business last month, with all her arts and crafts, gifts and design work under one roof.

And already, Babi-Beau is proving extremely popular and Rachel is building up a strong local following, with those visiting the cafe loving the idea of making their very own unique arts and crafts which range in price from just 50p-£5.

As well as being open every day from 10 am, there’s an after-school club on a Tuesday from 3.30-5 pm where young people can make a craft, enjoy a snack and a drink all for £5 - and with Christmas looming, many of the crafts made will be ideal for the children and teenagers to give as presents for friends and family.

In addition, there’s a pre-school session on Wednesday mornings where baby gifts can be created such as handprint crafts, plates and clay ornaments - plus there’s the bonus of not having to clear up the mess the little ones make!

Rachel offers a number of clothing printing services for individuals and groups, including printing children’s own designs and drawings onto t-shirts and sweatshirts, - another great Christmas present idea!

Hot and cold beverages and a wide selection of cakes and snacks are available to enjoy whilst creating your masterpieces, so all in all making for an enjoyable visit which families are sure to want to repeat.

Rachel is more than happy to discuss ideas for visits to the café by groups and organisations, as well as party ideas - in fact, she can also be hired as an entertainer where she will take her mobile creative café to a venue of your choice.
