At the recent Celebration of Childcare in Pembrokeshire award ceremony, New Hedges Nursery received an award for the completion of Phase 1 of the Pembrokeshire Health Promoting Schools' Scheme.

As an initiative of the Welsh Assembly Government, this successful Pembrokeshire project has been selected as the example of good practice to go forward and represent Wales at the EU Conference on Health Promotion in Lithuania this month.

Over the past three terms, the staff and children have enjoyed learning about health, nutrition and dental care. They have also improved their fitness by following the 'Top Start', 'Sticky Kids' and 'Busy Feet' activity programmes.
