Fifteen-year-old Alice Bevans recently displayed her new junior autograss Mini at the Autosport International Racing Show at the NEC in Birmingham on the National Autograss Sport Association's stand.

It was immaculate and had great interest in it over the entire weekend.

Alice races for the Pembrokeshire Autograss Club, who race just outside the village of Lamphey.

The PAC 2 numbered 1000cc mini will be in action from the start of the season beginning this Sunday, March 22, starting at 12 noon. This will be Alice's fourth year in the junior Mini section and she finished third in her class and first in the junior open at the end of the 2008 season.

Alice hopes to gain from her third place in the class this year, but will have strong opposition from all of her fellow PAC junior competitors, namely Hannah Brown, Tom and Rhys Roberts, Ryan Smith, Josh Powell, Jayran Lewis, Josh Jones, Liam Jones, Nicky Newton, as well as some newcomers to the sport.

The junior section of autograss racing is open to boys and girls from the age of 12 to 16 and consists of saloons (class one cars) and junior specials, in which PAC have the experienced Tomas Rees and Dexter Thomas competing.

As well as the juniors, autograss racing is for men and ladies, with 10 different classes to choose from.

There will be a large turnout at the first meeting, with many new drivers. It is the first national qualifying round for this year's autograss championship.

PAC will be hosting four qualifying rounds this year up to the end of May. On June 20 and 21, the PAC club will be holding round two of the British Autocross Series, where in excess of 600 competitors will be racing over the weekend. For a fun day's entertainment go along to autograss racing at Lamphey on Sunday.
