AS an Australian visitor to Tenby, Sydney-based chef Gavin Millgard thought that while he was in the area with his Tenby born girlfriend Christine Richards, he would do some exploring of Pembrokeshire's wonderful scenery. Setting off on Wednesday, July 28, Gavin, with his trusted back-packing gear in tow, embarked on a 10-day hike of the coastal path. "I set off at around 6.30 am every morning, as I wanted to complete around 25 miles each day," said Gavin. "It wasn't easy at first and I found myself feeling a bit shattered to start with, but as soon as I got into it, I really started to enjoy the experience, as the weather was pretty good and the views were pretty spectacular as well." Gavin completed the journey on Friday, August 6, but didn't stay put for long, as he and Christine then embarked on a 4,000-mile drive through Europe, visiting France, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic, before they both headed back to Australia last Friday.
