Friday, November 10, was a special day for Wales Air Ambulance in this area. More than 40 lots and12 raffle prizes, all generously donated by local businesses, plus the humour and skill of auctioneer Chris Dungey and particularly the music from local group Deep Joy, created a memorable evening. Haverfordwest Rugby Club was the venue for this event, which raised the magnificent sum of £2,962. This amount will pay for three Golden Hours and could save three lives in Pembrokeshire. There was competition, but Tom Cullen, of Pentlepoir, was determined and outbid others for the giant bear wearing a unique Wales Air Ambulance T-shirt signed by the crew of the helicopter. The bear is to be a present for granddaughter Megan. There was also active bidding for the lot that offered two paramedics for a day! Charlie Burton's boots went for £100 and numerous extra lots were offered on the night. Ocky White were the ticket sponsors for the event. Steve Jones, regional manager for Wales Air Ambulance, said: "This was a very successful event and everyone enjoyed themselves. Pembrokeshire has always supported our service generously and tonight was no exception. Our thanks to Hilary and all who made it happen. The money raised is a fantastic amount and will go straight to our frontline life-saving missions."
