Narberth Athletic made a successful return to the Polypipe Civils Championship West Wales Premier League with a win at home against Mumbles. Athletic led by 12-3 at the interval. The visitors rallied in the second half with a hat-trick of tries by flanker Chris Strick, supplemented by a penalty from outside-half Adrian Thomas,but it was not enough to alter the outcome of the match. Winger Tom Bonnell crossed for a brace of tries for the Athletic and number 10 Mike Georgiou added another. The new centre pair, Andrew Bowen and Ollie Cook, also scored a try apiece. Mike Georgiou converted one try and kicked a drop-goal, while Sam McNaughton also converted one of the tries. Mike Georgiou was nominated as man-of-the- match by the match sponsors, Young Brothers, of Llandissilio. The Narberth back row of Jamie Dalton, Richard Sharpe and Rion Whatmore were superb.
