Athletes through Pembrokeshire and beyond are in serious training for the return in September of an exciting and gruelling event: the Chevron Pembrokeshire Team Challenge. Sponsored by Chevron, the Team Challenge takes place on and near the Milford Haven Waterway, with all three legs of the event - longboat rowing, running, and cycling - starting and finishing in Neyland. With the support of the British Quadrathlon Association, the organisers will also stage a quadrathlon - which involves swimming, cycling, kayaking, and running - for individual competitors alongside the Team Challenge. This will be the Welsh leg of the British Quadrathlon Association National Trophy. The Chevron Pembrokeshire Team Challenge and Quadrathlon are being organised by a team from Pembrokeshire sports clubs - Pembrokeshire Harriers, Neyland Rowing Club, and Neyland Yacht Club, with support from PLANED through the EU LEADER+ funded Experience Pembrokeshire's Waterway project. Funding has also been pledged by Milford Haven Port Authority. The events will be raising funds for Parents Action Group and Welsh Sailing Venture. The events take place on September 1. Entry forms and further details are available online http://www.p-t">www.p-t- c.orangehome.co.uk and from Martin Dyde on 01646 684059 or Kate Lindley at PLANED on 01834 862109. Event organisers can provide details of local longboat rowing clubs for athletes wishing to learn and train in this discipline.
