DO you have an interest in writing? Perhaps you would even like to develop your own writing skills? If so, read on. Tenby Arts Festival is establishing a recognisable literary identity in addition to its well known persona as promoter of a whole host of exciting events and activities in the town each September (writes R.S.).
This year, in addition to the festival's very successful writing competition, Tenby Creative Writers are featured under the festival's ever-widening cultural umbrella.
Tenby Creative Writers are at the Castle Museum and Art Gallery, Castle Hill, on the evening of Wednesday, September 21, to meet and talk to anyone with an interest in writing. The evening starts at 6.30 and ends about 9 pm. Refreshments and nibbles will be provided to all who come.
The group will also be taking the opportunity to promote their anthology of recent work, entitled 'Writes of Passage'. The group is coached by local novelist Judith Barrow. Judith will be there to kick the evening off with an informal talk on the subject of creative writing.
If you take pleasure in writing and reading, and are also interested in improving your writing skills working with others in a supportive and encouraging group, then come along and find out more over a twiglet or two, and a brimming glass of best vin de pays. If you've no interest whatsoever in writing so much as a postcard, this invitation is extended no less warmly. The occasion is entirely informal, costs nothing, except a little of your time, and should be great fun. Please come - you'll be most welcome.
As to the group, it meets each Wednesday morning during term time at Tenby Community Learning Centre. Judith Barrow's great strength is her ability to bring out the individual writer's creative potential. Judith works in a relaxed, entertaining, and stimulating way. 'Writes of Passage', the group's anthology, reflects not only the talents of each author, but the strength of the encouragement given by Judith and by the group as a whole.
There it is. Please come along and join us for a drink, chat, and the chance to hear one or two items read from the anthology. No commitment. We'd love to see you.
