LOCAL artist Christopher May from Narberth has been shortlisted for Barclay's Finding Fan Gogh competition. The football art competition received over 1,600 entries from 28 countries, including India, South Africa, Canada, Australia, the States and China, but Christopher's (pictured) was judged to be one of the stand-out entries and made it to the final shortlist of just 22. Barclays launched the nationwide football art competition 'Finding Fan Gogh' in November and from the grit of grassroots to the elite of the premiership, fans have shown 'what football means to them' through two-dimensional art (photography, collage, painting, drawing or computer generated images). The winners will be decided by Sir Christopher Frayling, chairman Arts Council England, Sir Peter Blake, eminent artist, Jim Hytner, Barclays marketing director and Teddy Sheringham from West Ham Utd. The overall winner, decided over the next few weeks, will receive £10,000 and have their artwork displayed on a billboard outside their favourite Barclays Premiership ground. The judges will also pick five runners-up.
