Sir,
The more we learn about spin-doctors and politicians it seems that they delude themselves into thinking that what they 'want to be so' actually 'is so'.
Would it not be better to wait for the results of the 'thorough post-pedestrianisation consultation' which was promised by PCC to residents and traders, together with the results of a detailed survey which TWTRA are now conducting?
Instead we have pontification on how well this year's experiment has done.
In my view, this year's scheme was deeply flawed, particularly in having a six hours exclusion. It could have been so easily improved if only PCC had incorporated a lot of the practical, sensible and knowledgeable input offered by a broad spectrum of Tenbyites - much of which through this page. But this was ignored.
Arrogant spin will not solve our problem - reason, intelligent innovation and compromise might.
Anthony Rhys Davies,
The Grove,
Heywood Lane,
Tenby.
