St. Issell's Church, Saundersfoot, was the picturesque setting for the wedding on May 31 of Mr. Alun Dean Mason and Miss Shauna Ann Dinan.

The groom, the manager of the crushing and screening department of the family business, Mason Bros, is the eldest son of Alun and Gwenfair Mason, Lampeter Velfrey, while the bride, a learning support assistant at Pembroke Dock Community School, is the only daughter of Tony and Carolyn Dinan, of Wiseman's Bridge. The groom arrived in the cab of the Mason Bros Volvo lorry and the bride and her father chose vintage cars.

Given away by her father, the bride wore an ivory duplon raw silk bridal gown with lace detail on the bodice and train encrusted with crystals. The dress was designed by Shauna herself and handmade by Jayne Ellen, Swansea. The bride carried a bouquet of sunflowers with little spanners placed in the middle of each flower, which she later placed on her late brother Ben's grave. Chief bridesmaid was Megan Griffiths (bride's god- daughter/cousin), while bridesmaid was Becky Griffiths (cousin); they both wore taffeta burnt orange dresses encrusted with crystals that shimmered yellow. Flower girl was Teagan Jade Dinan (daughter), who wore an ivory duplon raw silk dress which was a smaller version of the bride's dress. They all carried bouquets of sunflowers. Page boy was Griff Evans (groom's cousin). Best man was Daniel Mason (groom's brother), ushers were Thomas Dinan (bride's brother), Christian Phillips, also toastmaster (bride's cousin), Jack Mason, Lloyd Phillips and Nev Davies (groom's cousins).

During the church service, hymns were sung that had been chosen by the bride and groom's grandparents. On the steps of the church, there were digger buckets that had sunflowers arranged in them. The bride and groom left the church under arched Doosan diggers.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Beggars Reach, Burton, where the couple cut a magnificent three-tier cake decorated with sunflowers, spanners and arched diggers, which was made by Ann Griffiths ,of Kilgetty. In the evening, there was a hog roast.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Halidiki, Greece, and will be making their home in Lampeter Velfrey.
