THE British Red Cross in South West Wales is holding an Arabian Summer Ball on Saturday, June 25, at the Queens Hall, Narberth, to help raise funds in aid of the charity's vital work in caring for people in crisis. An exciting fund-raising evening of authentic Arabian dance and music with Middle Eastern buffet and guest star performance by internationally acclaimed dancer, Asmahan. Doors open at 7.30 pm and tickets are £15. Asmahan has danced in the most prestigious venues in the Middle Eastern show business world and is famous for her superb bejewelled costumes and headsets. She conducts classes at Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden, London. Sue Reece, BRCS fund-raiser for South West Wales, said: "This is a marvellous opportunity to enjoy a spectacular performance by a celebrity dancer for the first time here in Pembrokeshire. I hope people will feel free to dress up and enjoy an exciting mixture of performances, live drumming and Arabian disco. "Asmahan is a great supporter of our charity and has very generously offered to help raise vital funds by performing live for us at the Queen's Hall in Narberth." Oriental rugs and belly dancing accessories will be on sale in the bazaar. There will also be a raffle with interesting prizes.
