Pembrokeshire Leisure has launched a mobile App as part of ongoing plans to improve the leisure centre experience.
The ‘Pembs Leisure’ app will allow active and prospective Leisure Members to join from home and access timetable information for all Pembrokeshire Leisure Centres.
Availability will be shown in real-time allowing members to book both classes and spaces directly through the app.
“The launch of our Pembrokeshire Leisure Mobile App is the first step on our journey to revolutionize the digital offer for members and residents,” said Clr. Paul Miller.
“Instead of taking 300,000 bookings enquiries a year face to face or over the phone, from today everyone will have the option to book through the app, avoiding queues at a reception desk.
“This frees up our reception staff to help users enjoy our facilities.”
Alongside the ‘Pembs Leisure App’, Pembrokeshire Leisure is investing in a new website to further enhance and improve the experience for customers.
“We made the decision last year to keep our leisure services ‘in-house’ because we run about the best leisure service in the country,” Clr. Miller added.
“Our staff can be very proud of that fact but we’re all agreed we only stay about the best if we continue innovating and investing.
“The next step will be to test the roll-out of self-service machines to one leisure centre this year as a pilot.
“Those machines will allow users to bypass reception completely and get straight on with their workout or swim.
“The final step is our move to 24/7 Leisure and I’m looking forward to announcing more on that in the coming months.”
The “Pembs Leisure” App is available to download for free via on either Apple’ App Store or Google Play.
