Tenby has won another tourism accolade The popular Pembrokeshire resort's Harbour Beach has been selected as the most beautiful beach in Europe. The beach beat off competition from sands across Europe - including well-known resorts in Portugal Croatia and Italy - to win the top prize. The accolade was bestowed by leading European e-tourist organisation - European Best Destinations. It said that Tenby had been chosen for the quality of its water, the beauty of its environment and its reputation among visitors. Meanwhile, Tenby has also been chosen as one of the top 30 most beautiful small towns in the world in a new on-line best destination list. The resort was only one of two British entries in the list of 30 global gems - including places in China, USA and Iceland - on disctractify.com Clr. David Pugh, cabinet member for economy and tourism, said he was thrilled at Tenby's recognition. "We are especially pleased to see Tenby featured on both of these 'best places to visit' lists alongside some other really exotic worldwide destinations. "It underlines just how special Tenby is. I'm sure they will both help bring in many more UK and international visitors." Alan Turner, Pembroke-shire County Council's tourism manager, said it was wonderful to see Tenby featured on both of the lists. "They're great for raising global awareness of Tenby and Pembrokeshire as they get shared to huge audiences on social media channels," he said. The latest recognition comes on top of Tenby's third placing at last year's British Travel Awards - Best UK Coastal Resort category.
