The weather was glorious and a full tide in the evening provided for a very picturesque setting. The event was again well attended by both visitors and locals.
Tenby Mayor, Clr. Paul Rapi, officially opened proceedings at 4 pm. Seren Irish Dancers performed beautifully; they get better and better each year.
The fantastic children’s entertainment was provided by Tenby’s very own Fergie, who was ably assisted by her daughter Chloe and then comedian and magician, Stuart Rogers, of Little Monsters, who captivated the youngsters for over an hour.
The well known sea shanty group, The Vagrants Crew, went down very well, as did the Pembroke Dock based classic rock band, The Candy Skulls, who were making their debut at Tenby harbour.
The headline act last Sunday was Tuxedo Function. Some of these young local men are still at Greenhill School whilst others attend university. They are a very slick outfit and enjoy a large following, especially the local girls. Tuxedo Function’s varied repertoire of modern songs was thoroughly appreciated by the large crowd.
The finalé to the very enjoyable afternoon and evening was another absolutely stunning fireworks display as witnessed by thousands of people in and around the Tenby harbour area.
Each year, Tenby Rotary Club raises money from several events which is then donated to local, national and international charities. The success of the summer events at Tenby harbour is due to the efforts and assistance of many persons, not just Rotarians. The Rotary Club is extremely grateful for everyone’s help and co-operation.
Any persons interested in joining the Rotary Club in Tenby should contact assistant secretary, Simon Constance, on either 01834 842127 or 07837 908338.
