Sir,

Congratulations to Councillors Sue Lane and Caroline Thomas for hammering another nail into the coffin of tourism in Tenby.

Their decision to let the South Pembrokeshire Hunt take part in the Winter Carnival is hardly a welcoming gesture to the 70 per cent of the population who support the ban on foxhunting.

The Hunt are not just going out for a little festive ride, they're pursuing a change in the law. The Conservative candidate for South Pembrokeshire, and former master of the local hunt, Simon Hart, is the head of the Countryside Alliance.

This organisation is desperate to overturn the ban on fox hunting. Tenby council's support of this cruel and barbaric practice will put the town in the headlines again - for all the wrong reasons.

Jo Perkins,

Tenby.
