PICTURED during a club meeting recently are Lions president, Dave Griffiths, and Eddy Weldrake, Lions member, to celebrate Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions' 'first female member' - Ms Clare Sunter.

Clare, who is from Stackpole, first met the Lions as a Cadet with Tenby Air Training Corps, who have for many years helped with the Lions-sponsored horse ride and paella festival.

Clare expressed her interest in Lions after she attended one of their dinner meetings.

Her sponsor, Eddy Weldrake, was impressed by her enthusiasm to help in all aspects of charity work, so after she attended three monthly meetings, he offered to propose her as a member, and she was delighted at the prospect of being able to help as a Lion to raise funds for various causes and the local community.

To date there are three or four prospective ladies who shortly hope to join the Lions Club - a much welcome boost to membership.

Anyone wishing to become a club member is invited to attend a meeting of the Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions Club, who meet at the Giltar Hotel on the first Monday of each month at 7.30 pm or, alternatively, please leave your contact details at the Giltar Hotel.
