The Saundersfoot Barnardos Group held their annual walk on a sunny Sunday in September.
Starting at Saundersfoot Harbour, participants walked to Wiseman's Bridge and Pleasant Valley and back to Saundersfoot Harbour. Ages ranged from six years to 70 plus, and everyone had a happy fun morning and raised just over £1,000.
The chair and members would like to thank all the sponsors for their generosity to the walkers, while a big cheer goes to everyone who walked and entering into the spirit of waking for Barnardos for Children in Need.
Committee members also manned a cake and bric-a-brac stall on the harbour raising a further £150.
During the summer, Welsh Cakes were cooked and sold to friends and visitors on the harbour in Saundersfoot, raising £450.
The committee are now looking forward to raising more money at their annual Hollyberry Fayre, which will be held at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot in November and the candle light carol service at Carew Castle in December.
All money raised in Pembrokeshire is spent on projects in the area, with 80p in every pound raised, spent on child care.
At the annual general meeting this year the officers were re-elected: chair - Marjorie Piper; secretary Joan Irving; treasurer - Sue Lewis; committee members - Margaret James, Phyllis Davies, Nesta Williams, Hetty Waters, Nesta Duckworth, Gill Priestland, Carwen Hopkins, Helen Henderson, Caroline Irving and Jessica Duckworth.
The committee would like to thank numerous Friends of Barnardos whose help is greatly appreciated at all events, and the public for their continued support. Money raised during 2002/2003 - £3,451.51.
