Concern has been expressed this week over how a national newspaper has portrayed the town of Tenby.
In Monday's Daily Mail, a photograph of a group of men supposedly on a stag night in the town was featured in an article titled 'Binge Britain'.
The article highlighted the growing culture of the depressingly familiar sight in almost every town in the country of drunken yobs on the rampage and comatosed girls in the gutter and how special police squads are trying to tackle the problem.
Although Tenby was not mentioned in the story, the caption with the photograph said 'Booze crews. Thirsty work on a stag night in Tenby'.
The two-page spread has caused a wave of criticism around the town, with one resident threatening to report the newspaper to the Press Complaints Commission.
Among those disappointed that the 'paper chose to illustrate their article with a picture purporting to have been taken in Tenby was Tenby Town Council.
"The article made no relevance to Tenby whatsoever and the town council are concerned at the image this presents of our town," said the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.
Members will be discussing what action to take at their meeting on Tuesday night.
