TO celebrate Narberth Food Festival this weekend, a collection of limited edition prints by internationally acclaimed artist, Sarah Jane Szikora, will go on display at the Jellyegg Gallery.
To mark the event, the gallery sponsored a project to make one of Sarah Jane's characters into a life- size model.
This was assigned to Kelly Bannister, a sixth form pupil at Sir Thomas Picton School, Haverfordwest. Kelly, who would like to pursue a career in set design, rose to the challenge and has created a giant gingerbread man, which will be on display outside the gallery throughout the weekend. The exhibition, meanwhile, is Sarah Jane Szikora's first ever one woman collection, and Jellyegg, situated in Narberth's Old Town Hall, is privileged to be the only gallery west of Cardiff to display her new releases.
The aptly named 'infatuation' collection comprises of vibrant works, featuring her well-known characters that take the viewer into Sarah Jane's imaginary world, a world in which she takes a quirky look at everyday issues such as relationships; in particular the ones women have with food.
Guaranteed to raise a smile, the exhibition will run from today (Friday), and in true Sarah Jane style, cakes, candy and all things pink will be served.
