Sir,

The 2002 Tenby Arts Festival is now over and what a festival it has been.

Once again we have been entertained and uplifted by the very best of local and national talent and, in this place the Welsh equivalent of Land's End, have attracted performances of undoubtedly world class standard.

This standard of programme and performance just cannot occur naturally; it has to be the result of much "blood, sweat and tears" by the organisers. It must be an arduous and stressful process creating and arranging such as wonderful a programme as we have seen this year, and in previous years.

At every major event the ladies involved were seen giving of their time attending to front of house, after already having given considerably of their time to the background work necessary for making it happen. I expect there were also some men involved; I am not seeking to be one of them. It looks too much like hard work. I shall do the easy bit and become a patron.

My thanks to the organisers of the Tenby Arts Festival. You are an example to us all.
