THE British seaside is centre-stage this season as Tenby Players present their popular, summer comedies. 'Last Tango in Tenby' by David Tristram is about a struggling Amateur Dramatics group, desperate to raise a bit of money and carry on treading the boards, despite frequent setbacks. The audience is guaranteed plentiful laughs as Steve Butler, Helen Wright, David Owen and Jackie McCoan perform this fast-paced family farce. 'Deckchairs' by Jean McConnell sees Helen Meredith and Kate Wright as Doris and Beryl attempting to enjoy a day away from the factory with unexpected results as the audience discovers that appearances can be deceptive and that friendships can be strained. This light-hearted two-hander rounds off the evening well, with a ticket for both plays only £5. The evening of comedy takes place in the De Valence Pavilion on the following Thursday nights, at 8 pm, on August 23 and 30 and September 6, 13 and 20, and on Wednesday, September 26, as part of Tenby Arts Festival. Tickets are available from the De Valence during the day and on performance nights. Anyone bringing this article along to the production will receive £1 off admission.
