At the May meeting of Amroth Community Council, the following matters were discussed:
Outstanding issues to be addressed: The roads in the Wiseman's Bridge area were still in serious need of repair. Some work had now been done, however, council was still awaiting completion. Pleasant Valley was now done. A further request would be sent.
Footpath 42/43 - Council need to identify if the path was still in existence. PCC to be approached again.
Green Plains, accumulation of vehicles in field: This was being addressed and could be taken off the agenda. It would be raised again if the problem was still observed.
'Slow - Horses' sign requested by Amroth Arms to warn road users of potential danger: A sign had been installed and this item could now come off the agenda.
Issues around Somerset House: Clr. Brinsden would continue to look at this problem. He understood that the glass in the back window was one way glass. This would be confirmed. There was also the issue of soil banked up at the back of the garages. This item could now come off the agenda.
Toilet signs in Wiseman's Bridge: This was now in hand.
Street lighting: PCC were gradually turning lights off at midnight in selected areas. This position would be monitored.
Children's play area at Summerhill: Information was shared with councillors about the play area at Kilgetty roundabout. It appeared that their insurance public liability was all that was required to cover the playground in relation to public liability. They currently had the playground inspected weekly by the community association to check for safety. Their play area cost was in excess of £30,000. The community council was keen to progress with this and it will be discussed at the June meeting as to how to take it forward.
Coast path sculpture: Council was still awaiting the coast path map, otherwise the site was completed. The chair would ensure that this was done as soon as possible. Quotes had been sought to re-tarmac the area just in front of the plinth (road area) to tidy up this triangle of road.
Diamond Jubilee Celebrations: All in hand and the posters and press release were now out.
County Councillor's report: Clr. Brinsden reported the following: Everything that was raised to him during his canvassing for re-election, he had reported to officers at PCC, in particular the re-surfacing of the roads within the Summerhill estate. The pothole which had appeared outside the village hall in Llanteg had been reported and was to be addressed. Tree surgery had been carried out on the large fir tree by the York House post box to make it safe. The wind turbine application for Trelessy had been refused and Clr. Brinsden wished to thank both Clr. G. James and Clr. J. James for their support. There had been many queries regarding the works at the Ebenezer Chapel, and planning, enforcement and highways personnel had visited the site and were happy that things were progressing according to plans. Clr. Brinsden wished the area every success for the forth-coming jubilee celebrations.
Llanteg Community Association: July 1 - summer walk, Colby; September 15 - quiz evening, 7.30 pm, in Llanteg Village Hall; September 30 - autumn walk, Laugharne; December 30 - winter walk, Pembroke Mill Ponds and Holyland Woods. The clay pits fencing and gates were now installed.
Amroth and District Community Association : The WI were taking part in the jubilee today (Friday) by planting a tree on the crossroads, followed by a strawberry tea in the hall. The sewing circle were having an exhibition on Saturday, June 16, at 10.30. There would be a raffle, with proceeds going to charity. You are cordially invited to come along and see the magnificent work on display. On June 20, Saundersfoot Cancer Research Committee were having a 'garden' party in the hall. Film nights were doing very well and were very popular with the new film releases that have been shown recently.

Other Matters
The community council was required to co-opt one Amroth Ward Community Councillor. If you live in the Amroth Ward and would like to become a community councillor, then please let the clerk know on (01834) 810360.
The asset register has been updated to include further seating in the area and the upkeep of the new interpretative panels
broadband speed in the area. BT had confirmed that the development of the Saundersfoot exchange, which will enable not-spot areas receiving broadband to have a speed enhancement, would be completed by January 31, 2013. Llanteg area needed to be addressed. The clerk would enquire whether there are plans to improve the Llanteg exchange.
A memorial seat request was received from Mrs. Waddilove and family in memory of Peter who died earlier this year. This was now in hand.
The knotweed at the hall was now blowing everywhere - it was dead and needed removing. The clerk would speak with PCC to get this addressed. She would also purchase the thesaurus for children leaving primary school and she also said how tidy the churchyard was looking. Thanks were given to those who had done the work.
A sign was missing at footpath 1/7 in Pleasant Valley which leads to Starregorse Caravan site. This would be actioned.
It was reported that the grit box, which has already been paid for, scheduled for placement by Cliff Road Amroth, had still not arrived. Clr. Brinsden would chase this up.
It was reported that on Bank Holiday weekends and weekends in general, a large sign appeared which advertised 'caravans for sale'. This appeared on the right of the A477 by the turning to Amroth Summerhill and Wiseman's Bridge. It was thought to be a company called Z10. This sign obscured the view of road users turning right on this junction to go towards Carmarthen. The clerk was to write to Ben Blake regarding this matter.
Date of next meeting: The next meeting will be held on Thursday, June 21, at Amroth Parish Hall, at 7 pm.
