The chair welcomed the guest for the October meeting, John Smith, of Morgan's Way, Summerhill.
Outstanding issues to be addressed: Back of garages at Somerset House, double gates and opaque glass in storage shed – Clr. Brinsden was seeking advice on this and as yet no action had been taken.
The steps on the sea-front in Amroth needed to be painted white in time for the season.
This was never done and there were several complaints from visitors regarding falling over the steps.
A letter had gone to Pembrokeshire County Council requesting the steps be painted in the spring.
The introduction of a sign for 'free parking' by the toilets opposite the Templebar to encourage visitors to use the car park and not park in front of the village amenities and risk getting a parking ticket, had still not been done, but it was reported that the matter appeared to be in hand.
Coast Path sculpture: A further update on this project would be made on November 7, with an on-site meeting with the National Park.
The meeting was to determine the need or not for planning permission.
County councillor's report: Clr. Brinsden reported that the grit stocks were much better for this year and from the lessons that they learned last year, there was likely to be better service on the secondary roads this year.
Ironman 2012: There would be far more consultation and much earlier, and there would also be a little tweaking of the routes.
Development Plan: The county council Development Plan consultation on alternative sites was now closed and the council anticipates publishing further changes for consultation in early 2012.
Amroth and District Community Association: Broadband was now set up in the hall. On December 8, there would be an Elton John tribute evening, while many children's parties were happening each weekend.
The AGM of the Community Association is on November 10, at 7 pm. All residents of the Amroth parish are welcome to attend.
Planning: The Old Stores, Amroth - a lot of concern had been voiced regarding the height of the new metal structure. The National Park Authority was also concerned.
It was suggested that a letter should go to the National Park from the community council to state their concern.
The original planning was that it would not exceed the height of Coed Mor - the adjacent property.
A reply has been received in relation to this concern and it would appear that the structure was not exceeding the height of the adjacent property.
Erection of dwelling at Longstone Manse, Ludchurch (refused); outline planning only for erection of dwelling at Longstone Manse, Ludchurch (no objection); Heritage Park, Stepaside - variation of conditions 2 and 6 of consent D3/0552/82 - there was no objection for a path inside the hedge from Heritage Park to Stepaside.
However, council was displeased to see that an application had been made to site caravans/chalets on both sides of the river and on what was now the car park. There was no screening for any of this and Pleasant Valley would be ruined and no longer worthy of its name.
The visual impact on the valley would be devastating.
In addition, the extra 30 caravans/chalets could put the existing private sewage system under pressure in times of high demand and members were very concerned that this could cause a danger of backflow into some of the caravans/lodges or into the site.
Apparently, there was a risk of flooding, because the area was on a flood plain. Residents had been made aware of this and the potential danger, and they had been given emergency measures as to how to deal with it should it occur.
Land south of Cheriton, Wesley Close, Pleasant Valley (no objection); erection of dwelling at Plot 17, Clos Yr Ysgol, Stepaside (permission granted); replace existing garage with new at Coombs Head Bungalow, Amroth (permission granted); proposed new roadway at Craig y Borian and Little raig y Borian, Llanteg (no objection).
Other matters: The issue of a 30 mph limit throughout Llanteg was raised.
This had been brought up before and apparently it would only be considered where there was a built-up area.
A large pothole had appeared near the garages at the council houses in Summerhill and another at the entrance to the estate.
The Silcox school bus was cutting up Stanwell Cross again. A letter was requested to be sent to the county council regarding the matter.
The 'notice board' in Llanteg needed urgent attention. One of the councillors agreed to look at this.
There would be a Tempus Christmas concert on December 16 or 23 at the Amroth Arms.
On October 30, there would be a Hallowe'en Party with fiery soup; wine tasting on December 8, with cheese and wine; and Jack Castle would be entertaining at the Amroth swim on New Year's Day.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 17, at Llanteg Village Hall.
