Matters discussed at a recent meeting of the Amroth Community Council included the following. The local housing enabler, Mr Matthew Owen, whose role is to do surveys in communities to determine housing needs would attend a future meeting. It was agreed that a representative from PLANED would also attend a future meeting later in the year. The appeal for works at Seren-y-Mor was dismissed. Village warden scheme: No one had been appointed to date. The situation would be monitored. Dog bins: It was reported that these were to be installed. Dog gloves: It was hoped that dog gloves could be acquired for the area from Pembrokeshire County Council at a reduced rate. The council was in full agreement to replace all boxes and the clerk agreed to order six new boxes, pending discussion with Pembrokeshire County Council, to see if they could provide them more cheaply. Pembrokeshire County Council must install them and hence it was not likely that they would be in place before the end of the summer. Amroth Village Hall: There was a credit balance in the new account. Marker posts: These had been requested for the dangerous bend opposite the Templebar site in Amroth. Pembrokeshire County Council would be contacted to progress this matter and the issue would be discussed again at the September meeting. Education Charity of David Rees: The meeting was informed of one of the aims of the David Rees Fund which stated in the epitaph that all children in the area moving into secondary education, should receive a thesaurus from the fund. Twelve thesauri for this current year group were presented to local children moving on from primary school. Land adjacent to Amroth Arms: It was intimated that a planning application for two houses was to be applied for and that the applicant would be submitting new plans. This matter was to be carefully monitored. Bottle bank: A bottle bank was now in place and available in the car park at Amroth, alongside the paper bank. Postcodes: There was nothing to report at this time and it was hoped that a response from Royal Mail may be available for the September meeting. The matter would continue to be carefully monitored. Flooding outside the Cartwheel: A conversation had been held with a representative from Pembrokeshire County Council who informed the community council that everything was in hand. Clay Pits: There was nothing to add to points already discussed. Woodview, Llanteg: It was reported that planning permission had been granted by the Trunk Road Agency through Pembrokeshire County Council for a new entry into the site. Amroth sea front: There was nothing to report at this time, however, it was noted that complaints had been made by members of the public who had been unable to get to the beach via the steps. Enhancement of promenades: Funding may be available from the Welsh Assembly Government to develop the promenade at Amroth. Representatives from Pembrokeshire County Council and a representative from PLANED would be invited to attend a future meeting. Redirection of traffic after an accident: Correspondence was read to the meeting regarding speeding offences and the diversion of traffic after accidents. New Neighbourhood Watch Scheme: It was announced that on the fourth Tuesday of each month, there was a police liaison meeting at the Bloomfield Centre in Narberth. There was now a new neighbourhood policing team in place covering all of Pembrokeshire. It was proving to be very popular with all local residents. The contact number for the police team was 0845 330 2000. Road Maintenance Llanteg to Tavernspite: It was reported that the area that had been completed was very well done. Progress would be monitored Road maintenance in Summerhill: This was to be monitored Road signs: The signs from Wiseman's Bridge into Summerhill had still not been re-sited. The matter was, however, now in hand and would be monitored. Mountain Chapel: It was agreed by councillors that the matter concerning Mountain Chapel planters and a memorial plaque would go ahead. Morgans Way: The hedgerow was to be cut in the near future. Nannie Gentles Lane, Staggers Hill: Council had spoken with a representative of Pembrokeshire County Council who was currently on leave. The situation would be monitored on his return. Bollard by flagpole: A further letter had been sent asking for this matter to be attended to as soon as possible. The situation would be carefully monitored. Posts at Kilanow: A Pembrokeshire County Council representative had been approached and had arranged for a section for two pillars and a board to be installed as a feature along the walks of the Colby Lodge. Planning: Clr. Brinsden declared an interest and took no part in the discussions. Planning applications received from PCNP for consideration: Cubicle Housing with Under Shed Slurry Store at Eastlake Farm, Amroth (no objection, all agreed). Planning applications received from Pembrokeshire County Council: Extension to Joinery Workshop at Joinery Workshop, Seabreeze, Llanteg (no objection, all agreed); Erection of garage, workshop building and recreational garden decking at Oaklands House, Old Amroth Rd, Llanteg (no objection, all agreed). Clr. M. James declared an interest and took no part in discussions. Alterations and extension to dwelling at Pantglas, Tavernspite (no objection, all agreed); construction of new access, change of use from agricultural to car park at Crofty Nurseries, Llanteg (no objection, all agreed); variation of condition two of planning consent 02/1289/PA to allow for revised siting of garages at Llanteglos Estate, Llanteg (no objection, all agreed). No objection was made to the application for a new premises licence at The Garden Lodge, Llanteglos Hamlet, Llanteg. All agreed. Stepaside Heritage Park: Councillors attended a meeting at the park and reported that it had been a useful one. They said that the site's owners, Pembrokeshire County Council, discussed the redirection of paths. A path from Mill House to Stepaside was proposed and the creation of a path inside the hedge between the stream and the road to accommodate walkers cyclists and horse riders was also suggested. This would then prevent these persons using the road. It was also proposed that some log cabins would be erected. There would be no swimming pool, club house or other social amenities. It was to be a purely residential venture. The cabins would then be purchased and not let as holiday accommodation. Dog control order: It was reported that dog faeces gave cows reason to abort and that this was a regular occurrence within the Amroth Community Council area. The clerk would oversee a questionnaire completion regarding this matter. Staggers Hill flood relief work: This was due to start in September for six weeks and road closures would take place for a short period of time while work was completed Subsidence: The road was subsiding on the way into Amroth. Pembrokeshire County Council was to be contacted in order to pursue this matter. Blocked gully: A complaint was received from a resident that a gully was blocked on Old Amroth Road by Oaklands. This matter would be pursued. New councillors: Amroth Community Council wishes to announce that there would be elections next May when new councillors would be appointed.
