Matters discussed at the recent meeting of Amroth Community Council included: Dog bins: These had yet to be installed. The clerk sent a letter to Pembrokeshire County Council for this work to be completed soonest. Members were also informed that the area behind the seat at the entrance to the railway tunnel needed to be cleaned urgently. Seren-y-mor: The clerk informed members that this planning application had gone to appeal. Three copies of correspondence with Amroth Community Council's 'strong objection' needed to be sent to Cardiff immediately as there was only a six-week time span given for comments to be made. The clerk informed members that she had not long received this correspondence from the county council and that there was limited time to reply. It was agreed that the clerk should complete this work soonest. The question was asked if the 16 objectors had had a copy of the letter of appeal sent to them for them to send their comments to Cardiff too? Various matters: It was agreed that the clerk should e-mail the county council to request again for marker posts to be installed on the bend by The Cartwheel, Amroth. Public bridleway: Clr. Mr. A. Davies had received 'phone calls from residents regarding concerns for planning permission for a possible bridle path along the former railway at Pleasant Valley. They wanted to know if Amroth Community Council were for or against this project? Members agreed that this should remain as a pathway and not be made into a bridleway. The clerk has sent a letter of objection. Clr. Mr. B. Lawrence suggested that there was nothing stopping horse and rider from coming in from Wisemans Bridge to Pleasant Valley as the pathway had been made good now. Amroth Community Council could only object to any further work taking place for the site from White Bridge to Pleasant Valley, as this was the only part of the path that came under their jurisdiction. Clr. Mr. R. Harries suggested objecting on the grounds of health and safety. All agreed. The question was raised as to whether the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority knew about this application as they had already put in a solid road at this point? Lighting: It was agreed by all members that solar panel lighting would be a good idea along the sea- front and in the car park at Amroth. Also that some areas in Pleasant Valley could benefit from lighting. The sum of £1,500 per light was quoted. This was to be discussed further. Dog gloves: It was agreed that the clerk should chase the county council for the 2,000 bags soonest. Clay pits: Clr. Mr. J. James informed members that there had been a gathering in Llanteg to discuss this project. The area at the back of old school would be maintained and kept in good order, but work would not start proper at the Clay pits until the end of summer, although a start had been made. Beach Box, Amroth: This application had been passed by the National Park Authority and the clerk read the explanation to members. Stepaside Inn: It was agreed that the clerk should send an e-mail to the county council and ask for a response soonest as Amroth Community Council were concerned regarding activity that was taking place inside the restaurant. Could this matter be investigated please? Heathfield: The clerk read an e-mail to members, but no survey had taken place regarding water and flooding on the site. Blackheath: The clerk informed members of her telephone conversation with the county council who stated that the caravan on this site was being used for storage for agricultural use and there was little that could be done. Speeding: A request was made to ask Sgt. Andrew King at Narberth Police Station for better measures to be put in place next time there was an accident by PenyBont on the TRA477. Traffic should not be diverted past Colby Lodge as the roads were gridlocked and the whole situation was disgusting. The clerk read an e-mail from Sgt. King regarding the speeding along the TRA477 and thanked members for the detailed information. Road maintenance, Llanteg to Tavernspite: This work had not been completed yet and the clerk should progress further. Cycle parking in Amroth: Members agreed that this was a good idea and the clerk replied to this effect. Planning permission granted by PCNP for: Conservatory, Kimberley, Wisemans Bridge; Extension, Summerhill Farm, Summerhill. Planning permission granted by PCC for: Proposed lock-up garages, Old Stable Cottage, Llanteg; Conversion of existing toilet block to residential cottage, The Old School, Kilgetty Lane, Stepaside Refusal of planning permission by PCC for: Erection of three dwellings, The Former Victorian School Museum, Kilgetty Lane, Stepaside. Consent to display an advertisement granted by PCC for: Erection of a projecting sign (in retrospect), Cwmrath Farm, Amroth Insurance: The annual insurance premium was now due for payment at a cost of £614.30. All agreed to pay. Audit: The clerk had now received the relevant paperwork for the annual audit for the financial year 2006/07 which she would complete and return in due course. The clerk was informed that members of the public had been using a key for the removable bollard at the slipway to Amroth beach. Members were informed that the Boating Club had discretionary use of the slipway and Tim Evans had a key and made a charge for use of the slipway each year. However, it was made known that users of the slipway must take care when driving onto the beach. Members were informed that the direction plans for the woodland footpaths from Colby Lodge to Craig- y-borion had still not been installed. The clerk sent a letter to Steve Whitehead at Colby Woodland Gardens to find out what action was taking place to complete this work. Members were informed that the road leading into the estate behind the parish hall was in a poor state of repair. It was suggested that the turning into the estate be made wider and the whole area tidied up. The clerk was to pursue this. There were no 'No smoking' signs in public toilets anywhere in Pembrokeshire. The county council should be informed of their 'faux pas' and rectify this as soon as possible. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, June 21, at 7 pm.
