At the January meeting of Amroth Community Council, all members were issued with a copy of the current insurance policy which was questioned as to whether it covered the common land at Llanteg or the clay pits. A discussion took place and the clerk should determine with Allianz Cornhill how they could be added to the policy and at what cost. Amroth Village Hall: Having discussed this matter again regarding the accounts for this subject, it was agreed that the clerk should open a new charity bank account with Barclays with the £354.73 that was withdrawn at a previous time. Seren-y-mor: The clerk informed members that she had received correspondence and a telephone call from Mrs. D. B. Rogers, of Crymych, regarding the planning application for 'engineering operation and landscaping in conjunction with the establishment of a motorhome stopover/aires de service and recreational picnic area' at this site. Having discussed the matter at length, it was agreed that the clerk should arrange a meeting and write to Mrs. Rogers offering her a date, time and venue for her to view all the relevant paperwork associated with this matter. Colby Woodland Gardens: The clerk explained the situation regarding moving of the directional signs to this attraction and it was agreed that she should send a letter stating that Amroth Community Council could not get involved with costs involved in this matter, but fully supported moving the signs or installation of extra signs. Bus shelter, Llanteg: This was completed before Christmas and was already being used by school children. It was agreed that the clerk should send a letter of thanks to Pembrokeshire County Council for their prompt completion of this project. Dog gloves: Councillors had attended a meeting with PCC and received a positive outcome. Four plastic bins with stainless steel liners had been ordered and would be installed in the near future. The county council would also provide the gloves at cost price to the community council. County councillor's report: Clr. Brinsden informed members that a part-time warden was being paid for in other areas of Pembrokeshire to keep the communities tidy. It had been suggested that more should be employed within the county and Clr. Brinsden would contact the county council and make further investigations into the employment of such a warden for the Amroth community. Post codes: The clerk was informed that it was not so much the post codes, but the address that residents use along the route from Wisemans Bridge to Summerhill. They should not have Pleasant Valley in their address. The clerk was to contact Royal Mail to determine what action they would take to address (!) this matter. Skye, Pleasant Valley: Members were informed that this property had now been tidied up and that there was nothing more to report at this time. Precept: As discussed, the precept donation for St. Elidyr's Church should be increased from £150 to £200. Hedgerows at Rosemary Lane: These had now been trimmed back Notice board, Llanteg: Members were offered a quote for the new notice board of £275 for softwood or £410 for seasoned oak. It was agreed to go with oak, so that it would last longer, and the clerk should make the necessary arrangements for the work to go ahead and install same soonest.
PLANNING APPLICATIONS Applications received from PCNP for consideration: demolition of existing annexe and construction of kitchen/bedroom/garage extension - Falcondale, Wisemans Bridge; granny annexe - Little Hill, Cliff Road, Wisemans Bridge. Letter from PCNP regarding amendments to original planning application at Bryn Howel, Wisemans Bridge. Applications received from Pembrokeshire County Council for consideration: first floor extension - 37 Llanteg Park, Ledgerland Lane, Llanteg. Certificate of lawful use or development received for: Crofty Nurseries, Llanteg - use as a commercial nursery; Crofty Nurseries, Llanteg - use as a dwelling. Outline planning permission received from Pembrokeshire County Council for: proposed manager's house and ancillary accommodation for users - Whitegate Caravan Park, Pleasant Valley, Stepaside. The clerk was to query this decision as she received this paperwork after the meeting on November 30, but it was dated 15-11-06. Planning permission granted by Pembrokeshire County Council for: agricultural building (housing of livestock) - Kilanow Farm, Stepaside; erection of two-storey extension - Mountain View, Llanteg.
OTHER BUSINESS
Members were informed that the owners of Little Hill, Cliff Road, had built a fence that was encroaching on road. It was agreed that the clerk should speak to PCC to see what action, if any, could be taken. The clerk received a letter from Ruth Roberts regarding the gate at Mountain Chapel, suggesting that it was in a poor state of repair and asking what action the community council would take to rectify same. Members were given the accounts for the burial fund for St. Elidyr's church grounds. The matter was discussed at length and questions were answered. Members suggested that only payments for the maintenance of the grounds should be paid as that was what the donation from the community council was for. Any other repairs or fittings should be made from church funds. The conservatory roof at the property known as Grongar was blown off during high winds recently. The county council were contacted and attended site within half-an-hour. They were appalled at the state of the bungalow and action would now be taken to find out who the property belongs to and get the situation sorted. Members were informed that the sea defence scheme was to start before the summer. Members were informed that the area outside Temple Bar Inn was a quagmire. This matter was to be monitored and action taken as necessary. A council house at Brookside Villas had been sold and found to be over-run with rats in the back garden and who had now made their way into the village. As clay pits also came under the jurisdiction of Amroth Community Council, they may be able to be made good along with the common land at Llanteg. This was to be monitored.
