Chairman Clr. A. Davies welcomed two members of the public, Mr. Lloyd and Mr. Whitehead, to the monthly meeting of Amroth Community Council. East Llanteg Farm: Mr. Lloyd was offered the opportunity to address members first regarding the work being carried out at East Llanteg Farm. Mr. Lloyd thanked members for their time and continued to explain, in some detail, the reason as to why he wanted to speak at the meeting. He said that he and his wife purchased the property and, rather than let dilapidated buildings fall further into disrepair, they seized the opportunity to develop the site that lies within the JUDP. With more plans in the pipeline, members were not satisfied with the explanation given by Mr. Lloyd and suggested that he may be exploiting the area, and to suggest that he wanted to build further was unacceptable. Mr. Lloyd stressed that he was not a developer and it was not his intention to build and move on. However, the question was raised as to why the farmhouse and associated buildings were now for sale on the open market? It was also made clear that, since the development of the site, flooding had become more apparent in the area, which was also unacceptable. Mr. Lloyd thanked members for listening and Clr. Davies thanked him for attending. Colby Woodland Gardens: The clerk read an extract from the previous minutes, which highlighted the reason for Mr. Whitehead's visit, and the reply received from Pembrokeshire County Council. Mr. Whitehead had been at Colby for some 18 months now and was aware that signage was not good. Visitors made comments on cards and most said that there was little or no signage to the site. Most ended up in Amroth and did not end up visiting Colby at all. There was only one brown sign at Folly Cross, Llanteg, and the Trunk Road Agency stressed that there could only be one of these off the main road. The county council had indicated that, for health and safety reasons, they would not have any other signs installed, or move the one that was in place at Llanteg. The Trunk Road Agency pointed out that it was down to the county council to determine what action should be taken for direction signs, and Clr. Brinsden suggested that the sign be moved to Pen- y-Bont. However, this may cause a slight problem at the junction with Kilanow Farm. Clr. Brinsden would have a word with the county council to determine what they would or would not do to help the situation. It was suggested that a sign should be installed by the Amroth Arms and that if signs were installed at various junctions around the area, it would spread the traffic flow. Members agreed that this was an obvious solution to the problem, but would the county council agree? Mr. Whitehead thanked members for their time and Clr. Davies thanked him for attending.

OTHER MATTERS

Overnight parking along Amroth sea-front: Mr. S. Lewis, of Amroth Castle Holiday Park, did not attend the meeting, thus the subject was not discussed further. Steps at Amroth sea-front were painted during week commencing October 16. Bus shelter, Llanteg: It was agreed by those present that the work to install the bus shelter at Llanteg should go ahead as soon as possible. Lighting: Clr. Brinsden had spoken with the county council regarding the barriers along Amroth sea- front and was awaiting a positive response. Dog gloves: The clerk informed members that Amroth Community Council was not the only council in the area that provides dispensers and gloves for public use, and that the average cost of replenishing the dispensers annuallywas approximately £300. Members were informed that if they, or members of the public, were concerned regarding dog fouling in the community, they could make witness statements and forward them to the dog warden at Pembrokeshire County Council for information. If the case was followed up, penalties could be imposed. County councillor's report: The question was raised as to when the orange bag system was to take place in Pembrokeshire? Members were informed that the county council were having difficulty in disposing of the waste from the orange bags and it had held up the process. However, the scheme would commence within 12 months. Grongar, Summerhill: Pembrokeshire County Council would not take any action regarding this site. Members felt that this was a health and safety hazard and action should be taken. It was suggested that residents send letters to Mr. Bryn Parry-Jones at the county council with their complaints. Traffic issues: The clerk read an e-mail from Sgt. Andrew King, who has passed on to members of his force the appreciation shown by Amroth Community Council for the work they had completed recently. The Moors, Wisemans Bridge: Mr. Keith Halpyn from the National Park had visited this site and the clerk was informed that, as planning permission had already been granted, some time ago, these were the remainder of dwellings to be built under this application. However, the National Park were aware of, and were to keep an eye on, the situation.
