Before the start of the recent meeting of Amroth Community Council, members of the public who were in attendance were asked if they were there to question any particular subject. They were interested in the request for a bus shelter at Captains Road. Council informed them that the request had been made, planning permission would be requested and Amroth Community Council would include funds in their precept for the financial year 2006/07. Council were thanked for this information. The United Reformed Church of Wales were very impressed with the final draft of the interpretation panel to be installed at Mountain Chapel. A letter from Suzanne Cole, of URC, was read to council, which stated that they approved of the information to be displayed, thanked Llanteg History Society for researching the matter and that they looked forward to the date of the opening ceremony. Clr. Lloyd had contacted Signspeed and gave them permission to go ahead with the work to install the panel. She was informed that the panel should be ready within two weeks. Clr. Lloyd was to meet Signspeed at a convenient time to show them where the panel was to be installed and would inform all appropriate persons of an opening date. Clr. Brinsden was pleased to inform council that Pleasant Valley was awaiting mains sewerage. This was a positive result as Llanteg were still pressing on with their request. It was hoped that a meeting could be arranged for all residents interested in using mains sewerage, but this could not take place until after Easter. Clr. Brinsden would keep council informed of progress. Although no time scale had been set for the work to be completed, it was in the planned scheme of works, as and when finances were available. Clr. Brinsden has plans at home for anybody to look at if requested. Amroth had to wait 20 years for their mains sewerage! The clerk had received a letter from Divisional Commander Paul Amphlett stating that members of the Road Policing Unit were to examine the problem of speeding. PC. Justin Williams and Sgt. Andrew Miles would provide high visibility policing in an attempt to reduce speeding in the community. The clerk had spoken with Roger Williams, trunk road engineer at Pembrokeshire County Council, regarding the two-way traffic sign on the TRA 477 Kilgetty bypass to Llanteg. He informed the clerk that a 'stage three safety audit' had taken place on the site from the Kilgetty junction towards Llanteg and issues were being investigated by the county council and the police. The steps at Amroth sea-front needed to be painted white before the start of the holiday season. More dog gloves were ordered along with the bins and were to be installed by the county council in the near future. The clerk of Saundersfoot Community Council had been informed of the mess under the tunnel at Wisemans Bridge and it was highlighted at their last meeting. They had written to county council and the situation was to be monitored. Clrs. Brinsden and Lloyd attended the Area Liaison Forum meeting in February, when the question of rubbish bins was raised and the emptying of same. Clr. Peter Stock stated that it was unacceptable for local councils to buy and empty bins themselves and he had asked Mr. Barry Davies to handle the situation. Clr. Mrs. J. Lloyd had been unable to enter the website for Amroth Community Council because nobody had the password. Council resolved that it was not necessary to have a website and thanked Clr. Lloyd for her time to address this matter. If members of the public want, or need, to see information relating to council work they should contact their local councillor or the clerk to arrange a convenient time and date. A letter was read to the meeting regarding pest control, stating that the Environmental Department at Pembrokeshire County Council would look into the matter and take the necessary action to alleviate the problems in the area. A request had been made to Amroth Community Council to have chevrons or the white lines reinstated on the bends at Little Kings Park, Ludchurch. Mr. Paul Watkins, waste management at Pembrokeshire County Council, had been in contact with the clerk regarding recycling bins at Llanteg Village Hall. They had now taken over their own contract for emptying the banks for paper, cans and bottles and needed to move the paper bank on the car park there. The clerk suggested that he should contact hall secretary, Mrs. Sue James. It was also requested to have can and bottle banks placed in the car park at the hall. Again he should speak to Mrs. James. Council had no objections to this work taking place so long as it did not cause any obstructions to vehicles using the hall car park.
