There was a great turnout at the disco for choosing of the Amroth Community Carnival Queen at the Cartwheel Restaurant last week, when the judges, Mr. and Mrs. Clive Evans, of Sunnyridge, had to choose from no fewer than 22 entries for the Queen and her attendants.

After much deliberation, their choice was Kaylee James, of Summerhill, with Debbie Morgan as her reserve, and Cherie Morgan and Frankie Owen as her attendants.

The new Carnival Queen was crowned by the outgoing Queen, Vicky Lewis.

Afterwards, there was a superb buffet provided by Mr. Bob Simpson and all the ladies of the carnival committee and their friends.

Arrangements for this year's carnival on July 29 are now well in hand. There will be a full day of events, starting with a sandcastle competition, and culminating with a live band and a firework display in the evening.
