South Pembrokeshire's Assembly Member Angela Burns has won a pledge from the Welsh health minister that cleanliness of school toilets will be investigated. Mrs. Burns discovered that 54 per cent of schools inspected by the inspectorate service Estyn were criticised for having dirty loos. "Schools are losing out on funding for essential services for the protection of our children's health, such as clean toilets and classrooms," Mrs. Burns told Welsh health minister, Edina Hart.  "What effect will that have on our children's health?" she asked. Mrs. Hart agreed that the state of school loos was a common concern across many constituencies. "Local government does not seem to make this a priority in terms of the funds that it makes available," said Mrs. Hart. "However, I will discuss this further with Deputy Health Minister Gwenda Thomas now that you have raised it with me."
