Narberth's local Tenovus shop will be welcoming local Assembly Member, Angela Burns, Conservative member for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, who is donating her time as a volunteer tomorrow (Saturday) at Market Street, Narberth.

Tenovus charity shop opened in November last year and is the 65th Tenovus shop to date in the UK.

Tim Finch, head of retail said: "We are delighted to welcome Angela as a volunteer to the shop and we hope that her presence will encourage people to visit the shop, snap up a bargain and also offer their time as volunteers - without which we would not survive.

"We hope Angela enjoys her time with us and thank her along with all our volunteers that donate their time helping raise vital funds to support people with cancer."

Funds raised by Tenovus' go towards the expansion of Tenovus' cancer support services in the area such as the delivery of cancer treatments aboard Tenovus' Mobile Support Unit in Carmarthenshire, specialist benefits advice and counseling service for cancer patients and their families as well as Tenovus freephone cancer support line (0808 808 1010) which provides the most up to date information for cancer patients across the whole of Wales.

Angela Burns Assembly Member for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire said: "I recently visited the Tenovus Mobile Support Unit and was amazed by what a great facility it was and by the fact that it is funded solely on donations and fund-raising initiatives.

"I am delighted that the Unit visits Carmarthenshire on a weekly basis delivering support and care to people in their communities.

"I contacted my local Tenovus charity shop to see what I could do to help and arranged a day to volunteer.

"I look forward to lending a hand and meeting constituents, I hope to raise awareness of Tenovus' excellent work in supporting people with cancer."
