Nick Bourne, leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the National Assembly and Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales, has expressed his dismay at the decision of Labour's Education Minister, Jane Davidson, to close Pentlepoir School with effect from August 31, 2007.
Nick Bourne said: "I am dismayed at the Minister's decision to close Pentlepoir School later this year. "Pentlepoir is an excellent school and a vital part of the local community. Schools such as this should be protected unless they are failing to deliver the national curriculum.
"This decision will greatly disappoint those parents and teachers who have campaigned so hard to keep their school open."
